How do you define effectiveness? How do you measure it?

Do you define it for yourself, or in collaboration with project participants or others?

What does success look like? How much success is enough?

What does failure look like? Can there be effectiveness in failure?

Can a project succeed as an artwork but fail as a force for social change, or vice versa?

Aesthetics of Doing is a series of panel discussions that bring together artists, scholars, administrators and other members of the art community for discussions that critically address socially engaged art as it is practiced and defined.
