Magally “Maga” Miranda is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz, with B.A.s in Feminist Studies and Community Studies. She was born and raised in East Los Angeles/Boyle Heights, but currently resides in Brooklyn where she is a educator of inner-city youth. An aspiring graduate student, her research interests include Chicana feminist critical theory, Marxist feminist theories of social reproduction and globalization. She has been a community activist in various capacities since the age of 13 when she was a student leader in the Los Angeles “Day Without a Mexican” General Strike.
