Director of Development
Nicholas Cohn has worked in the art non-profit, museum, and commercial gallery arena since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. Prior to joining A Blade of Grass, he held the position of Director of Development for Art in General, overseeing their 35th anniversary campaign and the opening of a new exhibition space in Brooklyn. From 2002 to 2008 Nicholas worked in the Development Departments for Americans for the Arts and the Brooklyn Museum, helping coordinate their fundraising galas, the National Arts Awards, Brooklyn Ball, as well as the launch of The Sackler Center for Feminist Art. In 2008, he was recruited to help open Tyler Rollins Fine Art, a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea, NY. Serving as the gallery’s Director, he was responsible for exhibition planning, art fair participation, and the sale of works to important private and museum collections. Nicholas is also an independent curator, with a passion for socially engaged art. He organized the exhibition “Art and Social Activism” for Chashama, “Social Structures” for the Art Miami Fair, and “Gatekeeper” for William Holman Gallery. He is an active supporter of The Wassaic Project, A Studio in A School, Artadia, and has been a guest lecturer on Arts Administration at New York University and Montserrat College of Art.
